  2. Click the "New Style" button
  3. Add a title for your custom writing style in the title field
  4. Write detailed instructions describing how the style should transform text:
    • Be specific about tone, formality level, and writing approach
    • Include examples of the desired output style
    • Mention any specific formatting or structural requirements
  5. Click "Create Style" to save your new writing style
  6. Optional: Enable the "Make Public" checkbox if you want to share your style with the Rewrait community

Writing Effective Style Instructions

When creating your custom style, consider including these elements in your instructions:

Tone and Voice

  • Formality level: Casual, professional, academic, conversational
  • Personality: Friendly, authoritative, encouraging, direct
  • Perspective: First person, third person, neutral

Structure and Format

  • Sentence length: Short and punchy, varied, or detailed
  • Paragraph style: Brief summaries, detailed explanations, bullet points
  • Organization: Logical flow, chronological, priority-based

Content Focus

  • Emphasis: Key points to highlight or strengthen
  • Additions: Information to include (examples, context, clarifications)
  • Removals: Elements to minimize (jargon, redundancy, complexity)

Managing Your Custom Styles

Once created, your custom writing styles will appear in your "My Styles" section where you can:

  • Edit existing styles to refine instructions
  • Delete styles you no longer need
  • Toggle visibility between public and private
  • Use them like any built-in writing style

Sharing with the Community

When you make a style public, it becomes available to other Rewrait users:

  • Community benefit: Help others with similar writing needs
  • Feedback opportunity: Users may provide suggestions for improvements
  • Recognition: Your style will be attributed to you in the community library

Best Practices

  • Test your style with different types of content to ensure consistency
  • Iterate and refine based on the results you get
  • Use descriptive titles that clearly indicate the style's purpose
  • Keep instructions focused - avoid conflicting or overly complex requirements
  • Consider your audience when deciding whether to make a style public
